Happy Halloween

Well, what a fun time we all had last night! I cannot believe it is already Halloween, the old saying is really true, time goes by faster the older you get. Last night, all the kids got together to go trick or treating. We loaded, I say we, as if I did it myself...I should say, the hubbies loaded up the trailer with hay and we all went for a THRILL of a hay-ride around Greystone. There was everything from a scooby-doo to a snow white. After the candy grabbing was done, Jody Latimer was kind enough to have everyone back over at her home for chili and hot dogs. By the end of the night, the kids had eaten enough candy to keep them awake for days! But, hey, that is the fun of Halloween-right. I may not have had the candy, but it was pointed out to me that I did have two bowls of Jason's awesome chili-but I am eating for two and will lavish in that for a couple more days! The images above are just snap shots of all the cuties from last night. Wasn't my little pirate just the best! I was just a Mom last night and not a photographer...enjoy!!

Cutest Lil' Pumpkin in the Patch..

and I had the honor of photographing him. Meet Jackson Petty-don't you just love that blonde hair? I had the best time at this session. He loved being in the red waggon and playing with the straw more than the pumpkins. After the outdoor session, we went in and he got to wear his Daddy's badge, how cute is that...could he be a sheriff in the making? If so, I know he will make Mama and Daddy proud!

Once again, another senior!

Just a quick peak at Brittney's session. I have not finished this session, but loved this shot. She had the best "serious" poses. She really liked the bamboo, so we took shots at the bamboo with each outfit she wore. So far, this is my favorite. Brittney is also a senior at JMA and was a joy to work with. More to follow!!

This week has been very busy with senior shoots. I had the pleasure to work with Rob, a senior at JMA. He was such a joy to work with and was such a great sport about everything. He had the best personality and not to mention such a handsome guy. I know guys usually hate having thier picture taken, but he followed my directions so well and posed great for me. We took these at a farm that had such character. I loved all the old barns, it was the perfect spot for a "guy" shoot. I have known Rob's family for years and it was an honor for me to photograph his senior session. So, thanks Sally for choosing me to work with your son, hope you will enjoy the results.

Isn't he precious....

and he is all MINE!! Sorry if I am tooting my own horn and I know all Mom's brag on thier kids, so I am doing the same! I took Keaton out a couple of weeks ago to get some shots of him for his 3 year session. WOW how time flies. He turned 3 in June and I am a little behind. They say photographer's children are the most photographed, but I have to disagree. Before my business grew, yes, that was very true. Now, however, I find it hard to get images of him like I did before I starting doing photography as a business. It use to be that I took a picture of him doing everything, no matter the kind of camera I was using, no matter the lens, no matter the place. It seems now, I do not just take out my point and shoot camera to just capture those fun moments, instead, I drag out my "pro" camera and lens and actually have a full blown session with him. So, my goal this year, is to go back to just shooting my child for the fun of it and not worry so much about getting that perfect image. I love to scrapbook and as my friends would tell you, I am WAY behind...I am only on Keaton's first Christmas. When we all get together to scrap, they always laugh at me due to the fact that it takes me forever to get my layout done because I am trying to find that perfect picture to create my page. With another little one on the way, I know that is going to have to change. So, a promise to myself that starting now, I will not worry about what type of camera I have in my hand and I will start taking along my point and shoot camera to all those little events just to capture the moment of my children growing up. It will be hard at first, but sometimes, we as professionals, forget it is OK to not take photography so seriously and not worry about the right lighting, etc, but to just have fun. I can tell you, I know Keaton would be thrilled not to see a HUGE lens in front of his face :-) . For all of you out there, please do not forget to just keep shooting no matter what type of camera you have, no matter the lens, no matter your surroundings. One day, you and your children will be so glad you did!

Introducting Lucy

What a precious little baby and she check out that hair color. A mix of strawberry blond and brown. Just lovely. Lucy was a pleasure to photograph, she had just turned 5 weeks when I shot these. I just love all those rolls! It is so fun as a photographer to start working with a baby when they are so tiny and watch them grow. I cannot wait to see how cute she is when she is a year, it will be hard to top how cute she is now! I know Mom, Dad and grandparents are enjoying this sweet new bundle.

Another great senior!

Meet Anna! She is a senior in Crawford County and she was kind enough to come down to Milledgeville for me to photograph her. She was so much fun to work with and had such a great smile. It was not hard to get great shots of her, she made my job seem easy. My goal was to create a lasting image that she and her parents could look at years from now and remember this time in her life. Congrats to another senior, best of luck in your coming college years!

It's great to be a senior!

I can remember when I became a senior in high school, yes, it seems like only yesterday. It is hard to believe it has been almost 15 years since I graduated. Gosh, am I that old!?! One of the first things I did the summer before my senior year was book my photo session for my senior portraits. I could not wait to get them back and choose the one for the year book. Since starting my photography business, I have been able to work with some wonderful seniors from many different schools. Some I babysat when I was in college, others I had never met. I have to say, I love working with this age group. They take directions so well and you can see the excitement in their eyes about what the upcoming year has in store for them. Oh, if life were only as simple as when you are a senior.

The images above are of Crystal, a senior at JMA. I loved photographing her. She had the best personality and was up for anything. What a beautiful young lady. Best of luck with your senior year, Crystal. Also, check out Crystal on the basketball court, I hear she is quite the athlete!

Matt & Lindsey

My assistant, Tara, and I had the pleasure to work with a wonderful couple this past weekend on their wedding day. Matt and Lindsey were married in Roswell, GA. They were a delight to work with and what a beautiful bride Lindsey made. I have to say, Matt was the best sport throughout the whole day and is one of the best grooms I have photographed. The day was beautiful and the weather was perfect. The wedding was held at Roswell United Methodist Church and the reception was at Primrose. What an awesome venue to hold a reception. It is an old home with so much charm. I just had to take a sneak peak at their images. Take a look at that awesome red tub! What fun! I am sure they are in Jamaica enjoying their honeymoon. Congrats to Lindsey and Matt, wishing you many years of wedded bliss. Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day.

My nephew has arrived!

Ok, so he is really not my nephew, but he might as well be! Ivey, my 1st cousin, who I consider a sister, just gave birth to her first child. A precious little boy named Cole. Of course, Aunt Kelly had to be the first to get some shots of him. Isn't he just the cutest little thing ever. Congrats to Ivey and Brad-they are going to make wonderful parents.
