Time for Tea

I had a session not too long ago with two precious girls. Their mother wanted photographs of them having a tea party, so what better place to do the shoot than at Tara's Tea Thyme. Bailey and Jordan did fantastic. They were the two easiest girls to work with, not to mention they got along so well. I really enjoyed our session together and hope to work with them again soon.

Miles for Madeline

First I have to say I am sorry it has been so long since my last post. I have been so busy that I have not had time to turn around. Weddings, graduations, regular client shoots and building a studio...I just have not had much time to sit down and type something. So much has been going on that I really do not even know where to start. I thought Miles for Madeline would be the best place because it touches my heart so much. Many of you know the story behind Madeline and if you do not, I encourage each of you to read Mandy's webpage http://www.madelinegracefoundation.com/
and http://madelinegracehopkins.blogspot.com/ The courage, strength, and faith this family has is a lesson to us all. I was so honored when Christa (Mandy's sister) asked me if I would be willing to come out and photograph the first annual "Miles for Madeline" on June 7th. This was a 5k race to honor the memory of Madeline Grace Hopkins and to raise money for the Pregnancy center. I know many of you came out to either run or just watch the runners, but all to the support of this wonderful family and their cause. The race was breathtaking. There were over 160 runners which, I am told, is an amazing number for a first time race. I cannot begin to explain the emotions that flowed through those streets, as well as through me. I have prayed for this family and will continue to do so and if you pray, I encourage you to do the same. Above are just a few of the many shots I took that evening. It was evident that Madeline was watching from above and was so proud of her family for keeping her memory alive. I know Mandy and Brian feel so blessed to have known Madeline, even if only for a short time, but it is also my thought that it is Madeline who is blessed to have such wonderful, loving and proud parents. If you did not come out this year to run, please listen out for the next event to honor Madeline and join in for a great cause.
